Aeiveos Corporation Home Page

Aeiveos Corporation is a education, research and investment company dedicated to understanding the causes of aging and developing processes and technologies which can postpone age related health decline and eventually increase health and longevity.

This WWW server contains information about aging, longevity, health and nutrition related topics as well as pointers to tools for biotechnology research. We take a serious approach to understanding the fundamental molecular biology of aging (i.e. precisely what are the defects in genetic programs that allows aging to occur) and believe strongly that the solutions to the problem of aging will require the reengineering of the human genome to retard and eventually eliminate aging.

History

Aeiveos Corporation was founded in 1993 and for 3 years funded research in Russia related to aging. In March of 1996, a partially owned subsidiary, Aeiveos Sciences Group, was formed to conduct research in the United States. During 1996 and 1997, Aeiveos Sciences Group was the 2nd largest company in the world conducting research focused on the molecular biology of aging, after Geron. In October of 1997, Aeiveos Corporation and Aeiveos Sciences Group mutually agreed to separate their interests and research directions.

During 1998 and 1999, Aeiveos Corporation has focused its efforts on understanding how individuals and civilizations will evolve once the aging processes are eliminated and whether extreme longevity (more than thousands of years) for human minds is feasible. Since then it has directed its attention towards developing the means for robust methods for "whole genome engineering".

Further background may be found in the paper Issues in Lifespan Extension.

Aeiveos is currently operating as a holding company making investments in companies that we feel will accelerate the development of robust interventions in the aging process.
